Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced Junior Civil Engineer / Civil Overseer to lead site execution, supervision, and technical monitoring for our upcoming project of factory establishment. Based in our Kathmandu office with frequent site visits, the candidate will be responsible for preparing CAD drawings, BOQs, interpreting structural designs, and presenting project progress to key stakeholders while ensuring top-tier quality control on-site. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, ensures project tasks are completed on schedule, and maintains smooth coordination between office and field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and draft detailed technical CAD drawings, floor plans, and layout revisions using AutoCAD.
Review, interpret, and cross-check structural drawings, fabrication details, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) to ensure accurate site execution.
Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, and cost estimations for factory establishment, civil works, and structural setups.
Prepare and deliver clear technical presentations on project status, execution plans, and site updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct frequent site visits across project locations to supervise daily construction activities, inspect workmanship, and ensure strict compliance with quality standards and structural drawings.
Track, maintain, and drive site tasks according to baseline project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met within tight deadlines.
Inspect raw materials, concrete mix ratios, rebar placing, and steel truss fabrication on-site to enforce safety and quality parameters.
Coordinate daily site tasks with contractors, sub-contractors, site labor, and senior management to resolve technical issues promptly.
Maintain daily site progress logs, measurement books, and photo documentation for progress tracking and billing verification.
Perform other technical and operational tasks as assigned by senior management.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Diploma Certificate

Required Experience:More than 4 years

Other Specification

Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering also acceptable).
Minimum 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in factory establishment, civil construction, or structural site execution.
High proficiency in AutoCAD for draft preparation, drawing reviews, and field layout adjustments. Experienced on both 2D & 3D drawings.
Proven ability to independently prepare BOQs, conduct quantity estimations, and interpret complex structural drawings.
Strong presentation and communication skills to effectively report site updates and technical details to stakeholders.
Strong track record of quality control management and delivering technical tasks under tight project deadlines.
Excellent communication and task-coordination skills in Nepali and English.
Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently from the Kathmandu office to project sites as needed.
