Position: Junior Advisor – Social Health Protection
Duty Station: Kathmandu

Responsibilities

The position holder will support the effective implementation of Output 1 on Social Health Protection. The aim of this assignment is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Health Insurance Board (HIB) and to improve the core insurance processes.

The position holder is responsible for: 

• Assisting with planning, coordinating, and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars, and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects
• Supporting monitoring and updating information on progress
• Carrying out tasks in connection with knowledge management for Output 1
• Drawing up media analysis and conducting desk reviews
• Supports international staff with translating Nepali documents into English and providing translation during meetings
• Actively expanding knowledge on social health protection and following current international debates in this area
• Performing other duties and tasks at the request of management

Qualification

• Masters in Public Health, Health Economics or Social Sciences relevant to health insurance/ health financing from a recognized university
• At least 2 years of proven work experience in a comparable position 
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
• Very good knowledge of the English and Nepali language
• Very good communication, writing and presentation skills 
• Good management and organizational skills
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
