Job Description

The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and updating the organization's website, managing the Management Information System (MIS), supporting system strengthening initiatives, and handling social media platforms. The role plays a key part in ensuring the organization's digital presence, data management, and IT systems are efficient, secure, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Website Management and Updates:

Regularly update website content (news, announcements, reports, photos, etc.).
Ensure website functionality, speed, and performance.
Coordinate with external web developers or hosting providers as needed.
Monitor site analytics and improve user experience and accessibility.

2. MIS Support and Data Management:

Manage and update the organization's MIS database with accurate and timely data.
Support teams in using MIS tools effectively for project monitoring and reporting.
Generate data reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
Assist in troubleshooting data entry or access issues.

3. System Strengthening and IT Support:

Support implementation and strengthening of digital systems across the organization (email, document storage, internal communications, etc.).
Provide basic training to staff on digital tools and IT procedures.
Ensure software is updated and systems are secure and backed up.
Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure timely maintenance or repair.

4. Social Media Management:

Regularly post content on organizational social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
Design simple graphics, write engaging captions, and schedule content as per communication plans.
Monitor social media engagement and respond to messages or comments.
Analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements for visibility and outreach.

5. General IT Administration:

Provide IT support to staff for day-to-day technical issues (hardware, software, connectivity).
Maintain documentation for website, MIS, and IT systems.
Support procurement and setup of IT-related hardware/software.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and guidelines.
