IT officer is responsible for the computer system within a company, overseeing installation, ensuring daily backup systems operate effectively, providing the technology infrastructures for an organization and contributing to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning in IT. IT officer will work in every size of organization in the company, factory usually with staffs, administers and high level managerial team and able to deal with every aspects of IT.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring the facilities meet these needs.
• Planning and suggesting for maintenance and purchase, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
• Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
• Making sure that email, internet, networking, software, hardware plus other power backup facilities are working perfectly. 
• Researching and installing new systems which is relevant to the organization
• Ensuring the smooth running of all systems, including anti-virus software, print services, email provisions, websites etc.
• Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to providing secure access to the network for remote users
• Ensuring the security of data from internal and external attack
• Provide factory and corporate users with appropriate support and advise
• Managing crisis situations which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
• Mentoring and training new staffs
• Keeping upto date with latest technology and dealing with insurance companies 
• Understanding the existing systems and keeping the track of all IT related properties 
• Recording all existing passwords, systems, software's, backup procedures plus other IT related 
• Keeping up to date record of all IT related equipment's, goods and accessories
