The Quality Manager is a critical position within the organization, responsible for managing and improving the organizations Quality Management System / Program. The incumbent develops, implements and manages the Quality Management System for the Company, ensuring it conforms to internal, customer, ISO 9001 / AS 9100, regulatory and legal requirements. The incumbent develops quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced battery packs and battery systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee/supervise Quality Control Team, including hiring, training and evaluation of team performance
- Maintain Company quality standards
- Ensure effective and frequent communications with all organizational elements, keeping quality on the forefront of processes and product development, and ensuring all personnel understand the objectives of the QMS
- Interact with manufacturing process to ensure quality control is properly injected at key and critical inspections points
- Draft and implement quality control plan for production, as well as research and development, low quantity/prototype actions
- Review and provide input to Test Plans, ensuring quality and safety are properly reflected
- Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Draft quality policies and procedures, and oversee internal processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the QMS and attainment of goals and objectives
- Interpret quality requirements from customs and from internal requirements and implement Quality Control Plans
- Evaluate adequacy of quality standards
- Routinely analyze quality data and other documentation, seeking to understand trends and capitalize on lessons learned and corrective actions taken
- Manage and present information to leadership to convey the organization’s status and standings regarding implement of the QMS and compliance with standards
- Implement internal audit program, assessing the organization against QMS, certification and regulatory standards
- Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
- Oversee corrective action plans of organizational elements to determine adequacy and completion of corrective actions
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
- Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
- Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Oversee implementation of corrective actions by other organizational elements
- Monitor risk management activities
Quality Control / Quality Assurance
- Design, develop and implement quality control training programs
- Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
- Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
- Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, draft root cause analysis and investigation report
- Collect and compile statistical quality data
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes
- Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts
- Create and direct environmental test functions and applications
- Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams
- Work closely with suppliers and customers to improve operations and reduce cost
- Ensure the personal safety and safe working environment of staff
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality specifications and standards, regulatory requirements and health and safety practices
- Contribute to the development of the business by delivering stable processes and products
- Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations.
