Job Description

Inventory Planning and Forecasting:

  • Develop and implement effective inventory planning strategies to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Utilize historical data, market trends, and demand forecasts to accurately predict future inventory needs.

Stock Replenishment:

  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders in a timely manner to prevent stockouts. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to maintain a smooth flow of goods and minimize delays.

Order Management:

  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in product specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details, track shipments, and resolve any discrepancies.

Inventory Accuracy:

  • Implement and oversee regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, discounts, and delivery schedules. Evaluate supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary.

Warehouse Management:

  • Optimize warehouse layout and organization to facilitate efficient stock movements.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for receiving, storing, and picking inventory.

Obsolete and Excess Inventory Management:

  • Identify and manage obsolete or excess inventory through effective liquidation or disposal strategies. Implement measures to prevent overstock situations and minimize write-offs.

Technology Utilization:

  • Utilize inventory management software and other technologies to track, analyze, and report on inventory data. Stay informed about advancements in inventory management technology to enhance efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including item descriptions, quantities, and locations. Generate regular reports on inventory performance, stock turnover, and other key metrics for management review.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with inventory, such as stockouts, overstock, and storage issues.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor and control inventory carrying costs, including storage, insurance, and obsolescence.
