ROLE PURPOSE:

The manager works under supervision of the Sr. Manager Internal Audit and Compliance. The overall responsibility of the Internal Audit is to ensure that the organization accomplishes its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to review, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes as part of compliances.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

In consultation with Sr. Manager Internal Auditor and Compliance and after risk assessment develop an annual audit work plan for Global Fund Program using an appropriate risk-based methodology, including any risks or control concerns or compliance issues identified by Global Fund Team. Work plans will address both special needs as well as prioritize areas based on key risks identified through the risk assessment process.
Since SC is sole PR for HIV grant and also works as PR for Malaria grants now onwards, internal audit plan should include both components.
Execute internal audit as per Annual Audit Plan. This covers internal audit of PR and SR (both NGO and government) on sampling basis. Draft report and provide to line manager for review. Complete assignment on timely.
Apply relevant risk based audit technique while performing audit for government partner
Complete documentation both hard copy and soft copy after each assignment.
Upload final report to e-library
Ensures that accepted accounting and audit principles and policies are followed, and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal accounting procedures and operating systems and controls and recommends for better systems through conducting periodic audits of PR and its partners as planned, and prepare draft report.
The recommendation should be practical and useful for system strengthening.
Monitor follow up activity, update Follow up Tracker Sheet
Evaluate policies and procedures and recommend to GF Program for the improvements, if necessary.
Evaluate key systems for effective internal checks and procedures for safeguarding Save the Children assets and also identifies and analyses causes of uneconomic and inefficient practices in assigned areas of responsibility. Assesses alternatives, which might yield desired results.
Execute compliance check with the donor requirement as per donor agreement.
Review SCI policies and procedure compliance
Lead or participate in an investigation, if required
Provide expertise, advisory service to GF PR and SR or CO management if required.
Provide support to Sr. Grant and Finance Manager on financial training to SRs as and when required.
Provide the support to Sr. Manager Internal Audit and Compliance as and when require.
Maintain high level of confidentiality
Provide suggestion to line manager for improvement of internal audit strategy and methodology.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

CA/ACCA
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience with at least 3 years of relevant experience in audit
