Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Officer to join our team at the Ankhu Hydropower Project. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills, hands-on computing, Nepali Typing, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with other departments to support the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable in English medium & digitally.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies, providing recommendations for improvement.
Assist in preparing and managing budgets, ensuring spending aligns with organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
Handle VAT, TDS, and other tax-related filings and ensure timely payments.
Work closely with the HR, procurement, training and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve any financial discrepancies.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement best practices for accounting systems and procedures.
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations.
Coordinate with banks & Regulators and meet the requirement.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Required Age:Less than 42 years

Other Specification

Proficiency in accounting software (Tally & QuickBooks) and MS Office, excellent Excel skills.
Strong understanding of Nepal’s tax laws and financial regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali.
Candidate must be able to type in Nepali Font & Unicode.
Ability to prepare draft financial statements and projected reports.
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
Ability to work independently, under high pressure and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong understanding of corporate finance, GAAP/IFRS, accounting principles, and proficiency in ERP Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel.

Ankhu Hydropower Project is run of river type project located at Ree, Darkha and Jharlang VDCs of Dhading. It has design discharge of 24 m3/s, gross head of 215 m and installed capacity of 42.9 MW. The average annual energy generation of the project is 227GWh. The energy generated from the project is evacuated through a 25 km long 132 kV transmission line to NEA substation at Nuwakot. The project has already signed grid connection agreement and process of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is in progress.
