• Good understanding of the political, social, economic and other related issues in the country
• Good news sense, research skills, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent written and spoken Nepali and English
• An extensive knowledge of the media situation in Nepal and understanding of the nature of audiences of various kinds of media outputs in Nepal
• Strong knowledge and skills in producing audio/video media outputs
• A good broadcasting voice and the ability to acquire the appropriate presentation style.
• Good script writing, suitable for audio/video reports
• Ability to write reports, backgrounders, analysis and features for radio and internet.
