  • Five or more years of extensive experience in managing nutrition and health programmes at the district or above levels for Master’s degree and ten or more years for Bachelor’s degree.
  • Significant experiences in CMAM/IMAM programme, Nutrition in Emergency (NiE), disaster management, humanitarian response will be an added value.
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of MoHP/health system in Nepal.
  • Ability to work in diverse environment with short deadlines and intense pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills (office package).
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent Nepali and English communication and presentation skills are the must.
  • Ability to conduct/organize workshops and meetings independently.
  • Sound knowledge of community/social mobilization.
     

Job Description

Main Objective: Overall management of Nutrition and Health programme activities in Nuwakot and Rasuwa along with other team members.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBITIES:

  • Compile all district information and details of HWs and FCHVs collected by the team and collect additional information, if required for different planning processes
  • Continue to maintain strong relationship with MoHP/DHOs/DPHOs, local authorities and partners for their collaboration in implementation of IMAM (Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition) activities and encourage same to the team members at their levels
  • Plan, develop and support to conduct capacity building activities at different levels according to the final implementation plan and in line with national protocols
  • Handling all IMAM programmatic matters in the districts coordinating/communicating with the team and together with DHO/DPHO
  • Ensure communication, coordination and linkages between the OTC (Outpatient Therapeutic Care) centres, Inpatient Therapeutic Care (ITC) centres and community (FCHVs, HWs) and Therapeutic Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) sites with IMAM approach
  • Ensure proper recording, referral and reporting system is maintained using HMIS (Health Management Information System)
  • Coordinate with nutrition and health authorities at the districts as well as other I/NGOs and other stakeholders and arrange meetings as and when necessary
  • Identify/conduct different community/social mobilization activities engaging both health and non-health actors in the districts to aware/link IMAM programme activities
  • Overall management (including administrative management) of field staff and conduct appraisal in the field
  • Support/facilitate to maintain proper recording and reporting of all programme supplies in the LMIS (Logistics Management Information System)
  • Coordinate with administration department at the base level and authorize field expenditures according to the monthly forecast
  • Coordinate with DHO/DPHO administration at the field level as per need
  • Coordinate with the team to collect copies of HMIS and LMIS reports on IMAM programme for monthly reporting
  • Finalize the monthly activities report (statistics and narrative) and forward as per established communication channel
  • Share/update programme progress reports with DHO/DPHO and other stakeholders, if needed regularly

Contract Type : Fixed Term Contract
Contract Duration : 1 year with possibility of extension
Gross Salary per month : NPR 97000+ excluding transport allowance and accommodation allowance (may vary upon distance and placement)
