Roles and responsibilities of this job

The ICT Officer is responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s information and communication technology systems, digital platforms, and online presence. The role includes website management, social media handling, report writing support, IT system maintenance, and providing technical assistance to staff to ensure smooth and efficient organizational operations.

The position also plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s digital communication, information management systems, and overall ICT infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and online visibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Website Management and Updates:

Regularly update website content including news, reports, publications, announcements, and photos.
Ensure website functionality, security, and accessibility.
Coordinate with developers or hosting providers when necessary.
Monitor website performance and recommend improvements.
Ensure website content remains accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational branding and communication standards.

2. Social Media Management:

Manage organizational social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Create and schedule engaging posts, captions, and digital content.
Design basic graphics and promotional materials using digital tools.
Monitor engagement and analytics to improve online outreach and visibility.
Develop creative digital campaigns to increase audience engagement and organizational awareness.

3. Report Writing and Documentation Support:

Support preparation and formatting of organizational reports, presentations, and digital documents.
Assist in compiling data and information for project reports and communication materials.
Maintain organized digital records and documentation.
Ensure proper version control and digital filing of organizational documents and reports.

4. Daily IT Support:

Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, internet, and email-related issues.
Ensure regular maintenance and updating of IT systems and software.
Support data backup and system security procedures.
Maintain inventory records of ICT equipment and assets.
Troubleshoot network, system, and user-access issues in a timely and efficient manner.

5. Digital Systems and Communication:

Support the use and management of digital platforms, cloud storage, and communication tools.
Assist staff in using digital tools effectively.
Contribute to strengthening organizational ICT systems and procedures.
Provide orientation and basic ICT training support to staff when required.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in ICT support, website management, or digital communications.
Experience in website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
Sound knowledge of social media management and digital communication tools.
Experience in report writing and documentation support.
Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, CapCut, or Photoshop will be an added advantage.
Experience working with NGOs/INGOs or development sector organizations will be preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good report writing and documentation abilities.
Knowledge of website updating and content management.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
