Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are a growing hydropower development and engineering company involved in feasibility studies, detailed engineering design, and construction supervision of hydropower projects in Nepal. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Hydropower Engineer / Hydraulic Design Engineer to join our engineering team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out hydrological analysis and hydraulic design of hydropower projects.
Design headworks structures such as weir, intake, under sluice, settling basin, gravel trap, and canal.
Perform hydraulic design of waterways including headrace canal/tunnel, forebay, surge shaft, penstock, and tailrace.
Prepare feasibility study reports, detailed engineering design reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
Conduct hydraulic calculations and modeling for flow, sediment handling, and energy dissipation structures.
Coordinate with survey, geological, structural, electro-mechanical, and transmission line teams.
Review and check engineering drawings and calculations.
Support project during construction with design review and site technical support.
Prepare quantity estimates, cost estimates, and technical documents.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and government authorities when required.

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 8 years

Other Specification

Master’s Degree in Hydropower Engineering / Hydraulic Engineering / Water Resources Engineering or related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in hydropower project design and engineering.
Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulic structures, and hydropower project design.
Experience in feasibility study, detailed engineering design, and preparation of technical reports.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
Experience in headworks, settling basin, waterways, surge shaft, penstock, and powerhouse design is preferred.

Required Skills:

Strong analytical and hydraulic design skills
Report writing and documentation skills
Project coordination and engineering management
Ability to work independently and lead design tasks

Note: Salary and position will be based on experience and qualifications.
