The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), based in Kathmandu, Nepal, is the leading institute for the study of the Hindu Kush Himalaya.   • Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization and demonstrated ability in human resources management

Job Description

Division: Administration and Finance 

Unit: Human Resources and Organizational Development 

Responsibilities and tasks 

The HR Associate must show a high level of integrity and keep absolute confidentiality. The HR Associate reports to the Head of the HR/OD unit and assists the unit in the following tasks: 

Recruitment and selection: 

  • Manage the online application system, including incoming CVs, the online CV database, and relevant upgrades to the online system 
  • Help formulate Terms of Reference (ToRs) and translate them into vacancy texts 
  • Coordinate with relevant international websites, newspapers, and professional journals to place vacancy advertisements 
  • Communicate with interview panel members and applicants to schedule interviews 
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements, including travel and accommodation for interview candidates from outside Nepal 
  • Maintain proper documentation of all recruitment procedures 
  • Support improving the reach of vacancy announcements among target groups in ICIMOD’s regional member countries 
  • Maintain and assure confidentiality as the focal point for organizational recruitment

Consultancy roster: 

  • Maintain a consultancy roster in the online application system, ensuring it is updated and functional

Other:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of the HR/OD unit 
  • Propose improvements in all processes to increase efficiency
  • Maintain good relationships with other departments

Duration

  • The contract duration is 1 year, beginning with a probation period of 3 months and with a possibility of extension subject to performance and ICIMOD’s future funding levels. The contract start date is as early as possible.

  • ICIMOD’s salaries and benefits are competitive with those at other regional organizations; remuneration is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
