Job Description

Legal Compliance:

  • Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and legal developments in Nepal.
  • Ensure the organization's HR policies and practices comply with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Conduct audits to identify areas of legal risk and develop strategies for compliance.

Employment Contracts:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure that employment contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Advise HR and management on contract interpretation and enforceability.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Handle employment disputes, grievances, and disciplinary matters in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Mediate and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including labor disputes and litigation.

Policy Development:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure that HR policies are legally sound and compliant with local laws.
  • Provide training to HR staff and managers on legal compliance and best practices.

Legal Advice and Counsel:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to HR staff, management, and employees on a wide range of HR-related matters.
  • Review and advise on disciplinary actions, terminations, layoffs, and other employment decisions.
  • Assist in investigations related to employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, etc.
