It pioneered the concept of royalty payments to artists and creators of music by paying a fixed percentage of sales revenue of their albums. This encouraged creation and helped in the exponential growth of the industry. The growth was driven especially by the popularity of Dohori and Folk Songs of different parts of the country. Music Nepal also played a catalytic role in developing Copyright Law and over the years has joined hands with numerous stake holders to strengthen the copyright regime in the country.

Job Description

Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and knowledgeable HR Officer to lead our HR initiatives at Music Nepal. This role demands expertise in HR functions, policy development, talent recruitment, and performance management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role as a one-person HR team, collaborating closely with team managers to drive organizational success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related disciplines; additional training is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in HR roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with HR software is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of HR functions, labor laws, and disciplinary procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Prepare comprehensive job descriptions and manage the hiring process.
  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, ensuring efficiency and organization.
  • Guide supervisors on recruitment matters.

HR Initiatives and Systems:

  • Oversee end-to-end HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Administer payroll and benefits efficiently.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives systems.
  • Provide counseling on policies and procedures.

Onboarding and Training:

  • Work with managers to create individualized development plans for team members.
  • Design and implement effective onboarding & training plans.
  • Identify opportunities for talent development and career progression.
  • Organise training sessions, workshops, and activities.
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance activities.

Employee Relations:

  • Manage disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Review employment and working conditions for legal compliance.
  • Assist in the resolution of work-related issues.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations initiatives.
  • Address employee concerns and facilitate conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Champion a culture of open communication and collaboration.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement procedures and policies for staff recruitment.
  • Identify training and development opportunities and collaborate with lead managers to implement them.

Recordkeeping and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Investigate and address staff absences, providing basic counseling when necessary..
