Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and emotionally mature Hostel Warden who is committed to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children living at the Ashram. The ideal candidate will be patient yet firm, capable of maintaining discipline with kindness, and dedicated to protecting the dignity and well-being of every child.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety, care, and overall well-being of children residing in the home
Maintain discipline, daily routines, and a child-friendly environment in accordance with Nepal Government Children’s Home Minimum Standards
Supervise accommodation facilities (rooms, washrooms, and common areas) to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
Monitor attendance, daily activities, and behavior of children, maintaining accurate records
Coordinate with teachers, caretakers, cooks, and support staff for smooth daily operations
Ensure children receive timely meals, healthcare, educational support, and counseling when required
Handle child protection issues, complaints, or emergencies responsibly and report monthly to management (Amics del Nepal) and concerned authorities
Support documentation processes, including children’s records, inventory, visitors, and incident reporting
Maintain regular communication with management, social workers, and schools
Promote positive values, life skills, and emotional well-being through mentorship and guidance

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Minimum of intermediate level education (+2)
Minimum 2 years of experience in the education or related field;
Should be able to control and monitor children (this doesn’t mean any form of physical or mental punishment);
Should be able to use gmail, drive and make reports;
Candidates having certification of children’s home operation policy understanding and training shall be prioritised.
