Contract: Strengthening Systems for Better Health Activity

Supervisor: Provincial Team Lead

Specific tasks include:

• Provide direction, leadership, and on-going assessment of the project’s health systems component, including activities to support district and municipal level policymakers on strategic planning, resource allocation, budget execution and monitoring, human resource planning and management and the like
  
• Responsible for directing the implementation of health systems strengthening activities in the field
  
• Provide technical support at provincial level and oversee the multi-disciplinary teams in the municipalities
  
• Provide technical assistance for outputs and activities related to health systems strengthening and governance issues
  
• Support provincial and municipal health authorities to use innovative training techniques and train them on these techniques
  
• Advocate with newly elected leaders to ensure that sufficient funding is allocated to key health issues
  
• Responsible for the ensuring the achievement of expected outcomes and quality review/assurance in the area of health systems strengthening
  
• Participate in provincial and municipal level annual reviews and project planning
  
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of all required technical reporting and deliverables for the health systems strengthening component of the project
  

Skills Prerequisites: 

• Master’s Degree in Public Health, Management, Health Economics or other relevant field
  
• 6 plus years of relevant professional experience   
  
• Experience in project implementation and health systems strengthening in Nepal
  
• Experience with USAID projects preferred
  
• Excellent writing, computer use, management and organizational skills.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, initiative, and good judgment
  
• Ability to independently plan and execute complex tasks while addressing daily management details and remaining organized and focused on long-term deadlines and strategy
