Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Credit to lead and strengthen our credit function as part of our continued growth and expansion. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality credit outcomes across all loan applications while maintaining strong compliance with lending standards and responsible lending practices.

The successful candidate will act as the technical expert for credit structuring and risk, providing leadership to the credit team and supporting brokers in delivering high-quality credit submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and manage the Credit Analyst team to ensure high-quality credit assessment.
Provide expert guidance on complex loan structures, lending policies, and credit scenarios.
Ensure all credit applications meet lender requirements and internal credit standards.

Credit Quality & Compliance:

Conduct credit reviews and approvals where required.
Oversee responsible lending assessments, serviceability calculations, and risk evaluations.
Implement and maintain internal credit policies and compliance frameworks.
Work closely with management to ensure regulatory and lending compliance.

Operational Management:

Monitor credit pipelines to ensure efficient processing and high-quality submissions.
Manage team workloads, turnaround times, and operational performance.
Collaborate with brokers to structure deals effectively and resolve complex credit cases.

Training & Development:

Lead training initiatives for credit staff on lender policies and credit structuring.
Provide coaching and professional development for Credit Analysts.
Identify knowledge gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with lenders, BDMs, and aggregator partners.
Provide insights on lender policy updates and market developments.
Serve as the primary escalation point for credit-related matters internally and externally.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Experience & Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage broking, credit assessment, or financial services.
Strong understanding of lending policies, credit analysis, and compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Experience supporting or mentoring team members is highly desirable.

Excellent knowledge of residential lending and credit assessment processes.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
