Strategy

  • Provide support to CFO on preparing & analysing the country local results
  • Support the finance process as per the timelines advised for both Group & local cycles.

Risk Management

  • Proactive identification of risks and concerns, including escalation to all relevant stakeholders
  • Support CFO for local prudential liquidity, Capital, Tax and other Operating risks, manage them within the acceptable level.
  • Escalate identified risks and collaboration with business stakeholders in managing these risks,
  • Review the control effectiveness and potential failure as required by the Operational Risk Framework.
  • Compliance of applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate Key Control Indicators and Key Risk Indicators are established, approved by ORO, are monitored and any deviations are action upon and escalated as required.

 Governance

  • Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies and the Group Code of Conduct.
  •  Timely mitigation of risks and resolution of issues including collaboration with all relevant stakeholder functions, and establishment of effective controls.
  •  Demonstration of adherence to the management principles for effective risk and control and the Group’s fair accountability principles
  •  Prompt and decisive action upon detection of risk and compliance weaknesses

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  •  Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Regulators (Central bank, Large Taxpayer Officer, Inland Revenue Department & DCGC), Exco members and other stakeholders from different units/segments

Qualifications

  •  Professional Accountant/Finance Specialist/MBA Finance from recognized university.
  •  Working experience of around 10 years in finance and related processes in commercial banks.
  •  Proven experience in finance/accounting functions and processes.
  •  Understands the business dynamics, well versed with the local regulatory requirements/norms.
  •  Knowledge of economic, social and legal environment as these have direct bearings on the functions of the bank.
  •  Excellent collaboration, influencing, coaching and facilitation skills at both individual and leadership levels.
  •  Ample trainings and development in new areas relating to finance processes.
