Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Head Cook at Lumbini Buddha Garden Resort will lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality and innovative cuisine that enhances the guest experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals.
Develop and update the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed and minimizing waste.
Monitor and control kitchen costs, optimizing efficiency and profitability.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Handle guest feedback and complaints related to food quality and service, implementing improvements as needed.
Stay updated with culinary trends and introduce innovative dishes to enhance the dining experience.
Plan and execute special events and banquets, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation.
Prepare reports on kitchen operations, staff performance, and guest feedback for management review.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 2 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or head cook position, preferably in a resort or high-end restaurant setting.
Exceptional culinary skills and creativity.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to manage inventory and budgeting.
Proficiency in kitchen equipment and technology.
Fluent in English and Nepali languages.
