Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are looking for a Head Chef to prepare meals for our Buddhist monastery;

Responsibilities:

Must be able to prepare all vegetarian cuisine dishes as per menu specifications and recipes.
Lead, mentor, and manage the culinary team.
Manage food costs and inventory.
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
Label and organize all the cooked and uncooked food items in the fridge, pantry, and storeroom.
Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
Must be able to maintain the kitchen’s hygiene and sanitation.
Organize and produce a menu for each week’s meal.

Work Hour and Benefits

Working Days: 6 Days a week
Duty Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in related field (BHM) / Postgraduate Diploma in Culinary Art.
Certification in food safety and sanitation will be an advantage.
Professional qualification in Culinary Arts or possess previous experience in Chinese restaurant/ Vegetarian Cuisine will be an advantage.
At least five years of work experience in a professional kitchen involving in management role.
Eager to learn vegetarian cuisine.
Must be able to prepare and cook for large groups of people.
Eligible candidates must have honest and sincere character without any drinking, smoking and other negative habits.
Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
