Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a competent, experienced, and responsible Housemaid & Skills Trainer who is proficient has strong practical knowledge of professional housekeeping and domestic services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, organization, and household care while also training and guiding other housemaids in proper housekeeping techniques, work standards, communication, and professional conduct.

The candidate should be reliable, disciplined, patient, well-presented, and capable of working independently as well as training and supervising others.

Key Responsibilities

1. Housekeeping & Domestic Duties

Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping duties to a high professional standard.
Clean and maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and other household spaces.
Properly clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, appliances, floors, windows, and other household items.
Handle laundry, ironing, folding, and proper storage of clothes and linens.
Maintain proper organization of household items, wardrobes, kitchen equipment, and supplies.
Assist with meal preparation and basic kitchen duties when required.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness.
Handle household cleaning materials and equipment safely and appropriately.
Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages or requirements to the responsible person.
Follow specific instructions and household routines provided by the employer.

2. Skills Training & Coaching

Train newly recruited and existing housemaids in professional housekeeping practices.
Demonstrate correct cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry, kitchen, and household organization techniques.
Provide practical training on the proper use of cleaning equipment and household appliances.
Train housemaids on hygiene, sanitation, safety, and proper handling of household materials.
Teach professional standards of appearance, behavior, discipline, confidentiality, and respect within the household.
Conduct practical demonstrations and assess trainees' housekeeping skills.
Identify weaknesses in trainees' performance and provide corrective guidance.
Develop simple practical training routines and checklists for housemaids.
Monitor trainees during practical sessions and provide feedback to management.

3. Greek Language & Communication

Communicate effectively in Greek (advantage) with the employer, household members, trainees, or assigned supervisors.
Translate or explain household instructions to housemaids when necessary.
Train housemaids on commonly used Greek household terminology and instructions.
Assist new housemaids in understanding basic Greek communication required for their daily work.
Support effective communication between the household/employer and domestic staff.

4. Quality Control & Supervision

Ensure that trained housemaids follow the required housekeeping standards.
Conduct practical checks and demonstrations to verify competency.
Maintain discipline and professional standards during training.
Report training progress, performance issues, and areas requiring improvement.
Assist management in evaluating candidates before deployment or assignment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience as a Housemaid, Housekeeping Supervisor, Domestic Worker, or Housekeeping Trainer.
Strong practical knowledge of professional housekeeping and domestic work.
Good command of Greek language – preferably speaking and understanding.
Previous experience working in a Greek-speaking household or environment is highly desirable.
Ability to train and demonstrate housekeeping skills to other workers.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, responsible, trustworthy, and disciplined.
Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
Ability to follow instructions and household procedures.
Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities efficiently.
Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and household equipment is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will be given preference:

Greek household/domestic service experience
Housekeeping training
Private villa or high-standard household service
Hotel housekeeping
Housekeeping supervision
Training domestic workers for overseas deployment
Greek-speaking employer/household experience
