Location: Based in Kathmandu

Grant Management Lead will head up and be responsible for the overall work of Grant Management Unit which is an important function of the Programme Support Team in UMN. Programme Support Team is responsible for enhancing clusters’ and partners’ capacity, ensuring quality including that of technical excellence and using learning particularly in the area of programme/project designing, proposal and report writing, monitoring and evaluation and mainstreaming cross cutting issues in multidisciplinary sectors. 

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Masters’ degree in Development Studies, Social Science or any other relevant discipline from a recognised university
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in relevant field of development organisations
  • Substantial experience of project design and management including participatory planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and developing proposals including participatory community assessment
  • A solid track record of writing grant winning project proposals is required
  • Familiar with up-to-date poverty eradication strategies, policies and development practices in Nepal and outside
  • Good understanding of the trend of development funds globally in relation to civil society organisations, bi-lateral and multi-lateral organisations will be of advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people & stakeholders and passion for developing others
  • Good coordination and management ability fostering mutual respect, participation and partnership
  • Excellent language and communication skills in Nepali and English is required
  • Good computer skills is required
  • Experience of working in a cross-cultural setting is preferred
