Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced Geologist to provide technical support for hydropower construction projects, with a focus on underground and tunneling activities. The role involves conducting geological surveys, rock mass classification, monitoring ground conditions, recommending ground support systems, and ensuring all geological works comply with project designs, technical standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze contract documents, geological reports, drawings, and related technical materials to carry out assigned tasks in compliance with contractual requirements.
Conduct detailed geological surveys, mapping, and rock mass classification at project sites.
Identify and recommend appropriate ground support systems, including ribs, rock bolts, shotcrete, steel supports, and other stabilization measures.
Supervise and monitor geological works to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with approved designs, standards, and specifications.
Measure geological works, calculate quantities, and support billing and reporting processes.
Assess geological hazards, implement risk mitigation measures, and coordinate with safety and engineering teams to maintain site safety.
Prepare and submit timely geological reports, progress updates, and technical recommendations to the Project Manager and relevant authorities.
Maintain accurate records of geological activities, observations, measurements, events, and project decisions.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 4 years

Other Specification

BSc and MSc in Geology (Engineering Geology preferred).
Must have completed at least one hydropower project involving tunnel works.
Strong expertise in tunnel geology, rock mass classification, and underground works.
Knowledge of geological investigations and ground support systems used in hydropower tunneling.
Ability to work in remote and challenging field environments.
Strong analytical, observational, and reporting skills.
