Position Overview

The General Manager (GM) will oversee the overall management of the laboratory, including operations, business development, human resources, and financial performance. The GM will play a key role in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Strategic Management

Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the laboratory’s vision and growth objectives.
Conduct regular market analysis and identify opportunities for expansion.
Prepare annual business plans, budgets, and performance targets.

2. Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, laboratory standards, and accreditation requirements.
Monitor service delivery, turnaround times, and client satisfaction.

3. Business Development & Marketing

Lead initiatives to expand client base, including hospitals, clinics, and corporate clients.
Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to strengthen brand presence.
Maintain and grow relationships with stakeholders, partners, and healthcare professionals.

4. Staff Management & Leadership

Supervise staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
Provide training, coaching, and career development opportunities for employees.
Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

5. Financial & Administrative Oversight

Monitor financial performance, budgets, and cost controls.
Ensure efficient use of resources and identify areas for cost optimization.
Provide regular reports to the CEO/Board on financial and operational performance.
