Position Overview

The General Manager (GM) will oversee the overall management of the laboratory, including operations, business development, human resources, and financial performance. The GM will play a key role in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Strategic Management

  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the laboratory’s vision and growth objectives.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Prepare annual business plans, budgets, and performance targets.

2. Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, laboratory standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor service delivery, turnaround times, and client satisfaction.

3. Business Development & Marketing

  • Lead initiatives to expand client base, including hospitals, clinics, and corporate clients.
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to strengthen brand presence.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with stakeholders, partners, and healthcare professionals.

4. Staff Management & Leadership

  • Supervise staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Provide training, coaching, and career development opportunities for employees.
  • Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

5. Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Monitor financial performance, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Provide regular reports to the CEO/Board on financial and operational performance.
