Job Description

Time Bound Contract : for 4 month starting from 15 September 2015
Job Location: WVI-NER HQ, Lalitpur
Work Purpose: To conduct an organizational capacity assessment with respect to GESI, develop a GESI framework that will feed into the Recovery and Rehabilitation Strategy and build the capacity of WV GESI focal person to roll out the GESI strategy into day to day processes and procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Master’s) in Gender & Development, Sociology/Rural Development/International Relations/Economics, or other related subject from recognized university with at least five years field experience in a large scale humanitarian emergencies with a focus on gender and protection
  • Prior experience in GESI research and program implementation
  • Sound understanding of development management and community development (academic background of development studies or experience) 
  • A good command of English especially in professional writing (experience of writing project/programme proposal or programme reports to submit to donor)
  • Participatory and analytical skills
  • Able to deliver report on time and as per requirement
  • Positive and encouraging thinker, able to build bridges and influence others
  • Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
  • Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
