Flight Safety Assistant Manager

Established in August 2014, Himalaya Airlines is a Nepal - China joint venture, providing international air services. As the name ‘Himalaya’ symbolizes high mountains of Nepal, dedicated in service to uplift the name of the nation, Himalaya Airlines aspires to rise up in its name to international standards. With the aim to excel in safety, on time performance (OTP) and most primarily, in service to its customers, H9 has already established itself in Nepal with high recognition.

Presently H9 operates to five destinations - Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur. The airline proudly owns a young fleet of 3 Airbus A320-214 series of narrow-body aircraft with the configuration of 8 Premium Economy class & 150 Economy class seats. For year 2019, the airline plans to focus on China connectivity by adding up Beijing to its destination network and eventually extending to other cities like Nanchang, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanning etc. Airline also has plans to acquire A319 for flying to high altitude destinations like Lhasa.

H9 received its first international award for “Leading New International Airlines in South Asia” at South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017. This award honors the efforts undertaken towards developing high standard of services and expanding network and has given a tremendous boost to H9 family to excel further and rise higher in the aviation sector.

Himalaya Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system offers passengers with latest blockbuster movies, music, TV shows and documentaries etc. Passengers flying with Himalaya Airlines can also spend their quality time reading through the in-flight magazine – Danfe. Following the genuine Nepalese tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” – Guest is God, H9 strives to provide true Nepali Hospitality to its esteemed passengers.

Job Description

Department: Flight Safety

About Job:

Flight Safety- Assistant Manager is responsible for providing the support to the Flight Safety Manager in the administrative programs and functions related to the of the Flight Safety Management System (FSMS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that safety program elements are carried out.
  • Review all hazards; receive all safety forms - feedback or reports evaluate with management. Makes recommendations to correct/prevent identified safety issues. Implementation corrective or preventative action as needed or required.
  • Monitors corrective/preventive actions as necessary.
  • Monitors compliance with applicable regulatory safety standards.
  • Monitors trends in reporting system and accident and incident reports.
  • Provides regular reports to management on program status and compliance.
  • Works with the Flight department and Maintenance Department, Chief Pilot and department heads.
  • Monitor / review data from the reported issues for high risk areas.
  • Review reoccurring risk(s). Adjust operational risk profile accordingly.
  • Follow up / monitor / review all hazards (and or reports) as necessary. Implementation corrective action due to the severity or as required.
