Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Officer to manage financial operations, monitor budgets, prepare reports, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management skills and a solid understanding of accounting and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes for the hydropower plant.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow operations.
Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting to support operational efficiency.
Ensure strict compliance with tax laws, corporate policies, and statutory regulations.
Evaluate and process contract extensions, promotions, and departmental budget upgrades for management review.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies, auditors, and financial institutions to ensure transparency and compliance.
Supervise and mentor finance staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.
Provide strategic financial advice to senior management for decision-making.
Draft official financial correspondence, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Lead risk management and internal control initiatives to safeguard company assets.
Prepare and submit fee invoices in accordance with O&M contracts and schedules, ensuring timely and accurate billing to clients and stakeholders.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 7 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s degree, MBA, ACCA, or CPA preferred).
Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
Proven financial management experience in power plants, energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects is essential.
Expertise in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for complex industrial operations.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and Nepalese accounting standards and tax regulations.
Experience in collaborating with regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and auditors.
Proficiency in ERP systems and financial management software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
High ethical standards, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong communication skills in English.
