Finance Officer- 1 Position

Purpose: This position reports to Accounts Manager. The position holder will be responsible for payment review, Timely payment processing, Compliance of operational manual, Bank management, Compliance of tax act

Term and Location: 3 years fixed term employment based in Country Office, Kathmandu.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Business Management. At least three (3) years’ work experience in financial management in INGO/NGOs. Proven experience in dealing with audit, income tax related issues and foreign exchange. Should be proficient in using SAP System & MS Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication skills including fluency in spoken and written English

Key Responsibility:

  • Record, update and review books of accounts in SAP system, keep proper record of supporting documents and vouchers and update bank statements.
  • Timely book all income & fund transfers in correct account lines of SAP.
  • Ensure all payment request is correctly reviewed in line with availability of budget, account line and other relevant documents. 
  • Timely book all the prepayments and accruals in compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Timely calculate and deport withholding taxes in IRD, make periodic reconciliation of withholding tax and deposits.
  • Periodically perform reconciliations and maintain subsidiary ledgers of accrual and prepayments. 
  • Ensure all the financial transactions are in compliance with operational manual.
