Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Role Summary:

Lead the finance and accounts function for the company's beauty and cosmetics operations in Nepal. The incumbent will own statutory reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, treasury, and commercial finance support, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to drive profitable growth. The role demands strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on knowledge of Nepal's tax and regulatory environment, and the ability to function as a credible business partner to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting:

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books in line with NFRS / IFRS and group accounting policies.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Drive timely closure of statutory and internal audits with no material observations.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, fixed assets register, and inter-company reconciliations.

Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with Income Tax Act 2058, VAT Act 2052, Companies Act 2063, Customs Act, and other applicable Nepali laws.
Manage timely filing of monthly VAT, TDS, advance tax, annual income tax returns, and ROC filings.
Liaise with Inland Revenue Department (IRD), Office of the Company Registrar (OCR), Department of Customs, and external auditors.
Manage transfer pricing documentation and inter-company arrangements where applicable.

Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A:

Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), monthly rolling forecasts, and long-range planning.
Provide brand-, channel-, and SKU-level profitability analysis to Sales and Marketing.
Track actuals vs. budget; identify variances and drive corrective action.
Build business cases for new product launches, capex, and trade investments.

Internal Controls & Governance:

Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and record-to-report cycles.
Ensure SoD (segregation of duties) and timely closure of internal audit observations.
Champion a culture of compliance, ethics, and zero tolerance for financial irregularities.

Treasury, Working Capital & Cash Flow:

Manage daily cash position, working capital cycles, and short/long-term funding requirements.
Optimize debtor days, inventory days, and creditor days to release working capital.
Manage banking relationships, working capital limits, LCs, and FX exposure (if any).
Prepare 13-week and annual cash flow forecasts.

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering:

Partner with Sales on distributor margins, schemes, claims, and credit policies.
Partner with Marketing on A&P spend governance and ROI tracking.
Partner with Supply Chain on inventory norms, costing (standard vs. actual), and cost-saving initiatives.
Provide robust MIS and dashboards to the leadership team.

People Leadership & Systems:

Build, coach, and develop a strong finance team; drive succession planning.
Lead ERP optimization (SAP / Oracle / Tally / Dynamics) and finance digitalization.
Champion automation and process simplification across finance operations.

Qualification Profile – Qualified vs. Semi-Qualified CA

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA / ACA):

ICAN or ICAI member in good standing.
2–3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or Big-4 audit, followed by industry.
Eligible for the full Finance Manager band; expected to operate independently and own end-to-end finance leadership.

Semi-Qualified CA (CAP-III / CA Inter completed):

Cleared CA Inter / CAP-III with completed articleship from a reputed firm.
5 years of relevant industry experience demonstrating depth equivalent to a qualified CA.
Strong track record in FMCG accounting, taxation, and team leadership.
Compensation typically positioned at 75–85% of the qualified CA band, with progression linked to performance and certification completion (where applicable).
