Roles and responsibilities of this job

Gorkha Athletics is seeking a responsible, trustworthy, and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Accounts & Finance Department. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, VAT, and taxation in Nepal, along with good computer skills. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting routine accounting, documentation, and auditing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain daily financial records and expense documentation.
Organize purchase bills, sales invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
Update company eSheets and accounting records.
Maintain VAT Purchase and Sales Books.
Verify VAT invoices and supporting documents.
Coordinate with management and the Chartered Accountant team.
Assist with monthly financial summaries and audit preparation.
Ensure all financial records are complete, accurate, and up to date.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:Less than 1 year

Other Specification

Educational Qualifications:

Minimum +2 in Management, preferably with an Accounting or Finance background.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Studies is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and taxation in Nepal.

Technical Skills:

Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Google Sheets.
Ability to maintain electronic accounting records and eSheets.
Familiarity with VAT Purchase Books and VAT Sales Books.
Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage.
Ability to prepare, verify, and organize invoices, bills, vouchers, and receipts.

Experience:

Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts administration is preferred.
Fresh candidates with relevant educational qualifications and practical skills may also apply.

Honesty, integrity, and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Note:

Working Hours: 3.5 hours daily (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM)
