Contract Length: December 2016

ROLE PURPOSE
This role will provide the primary financial and grants management inputs into emergency response programmes, and ongoing support to develop best practice emergency financial and grants management procedures and processes.   
The position will be primarily responsible for preparing and loading SoF budgets, Creating DEA as and when required and preparing donor reports for assigned SoFs.


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Award budgets loading and revision into Agresso.
  • DEA codes creation for awards in line with donor requirement and shares to BHs, cluster offices, and others as relevant.
  • Reviews accuracy of General ledger of assigned SoFs and verification of monthly BvA.
  • Prepare award financial reports for donor and internal monitoring purpose. 
  • Guides clusters for compliances to donor requirements, GoN regulations, SCI procedure.
  • Help in audit function of SoFs for which he/she is responsible.
  • Carries tasks as assigned

Additional:

  • Provide interim support to a country or regional programme which lacks finance resources. 
  • Deliver high quality results in line with the agreed ToR and develop effective relationships with country programme staff.
  • Comply with all relevant SC policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:  

  • Masters’ degree in Management or related discipline(s) 

Relevant Experience:

  • 3 years* relevant experience (2 years* for application GSI group)

Essential Attributes:

  • Knowledge in Financial Management & Accounting
  • Good planning, organizing, coordination and monitoring skills

Desirable Attributes

  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure
  • Proficiency in MS Office and in the Nepali & English languages
