Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to manage and oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and compliance, with prior experience of working in NGO.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounting systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all financial transactions, income, expenditure, and assets.
Prepare and authorize payments (including salaries), manage VAT and TDS on vendor payments and salaries, and ensure timely settlement with tax authorities.
Handle monthly reconciliations, submit profit and loss statements, and support the preparation of project financial reports.
Oversee banking operations, including timely reconciliation, bill entry, and coordination with banks.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, government policies, and internal procedures, and coordinate with auditors and donor agencies for financial audits and compliance.
Assist in financial planning and contribute to organizational budgeting and policy development.

Candidate Criteria:

Accounting/bookkeeping degree.
A minimum 3 years of experience or 1 of work experience in a non-profit organization will be preferable
Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office, general ledger packaging, and financial reporting systems.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proven experience in accounting, finance management, and tax compliance (including VAT and TDS).
Experience in maintaining payroll, leave records, and HR-related financial management.
Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Experience/understanding of not-for-profit and NGO accounting systems with multi-funding sources.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation, and project-specific bookkeeping.
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance, including donor relations and government reporting.
