  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration and managing multiple RDBMS on large systems.
  • Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL/PL-SQL.
  • Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication, Partitioning.
  • Knowledge of Database Cluster Environment in Relational Database Management Systems.
  • Proficient in utilizing the SQL Server Profiler to monitor and diagnose database performance and activity.
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
  • Ability to develop procedure documents and maintain detailed database related documents.
  • Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies.

Job Description

  • Install, patch and maintain Oracle Database software.
  • Tune all database instance components including SQL, TSQL and PL/SQL.
  • Oracle Database administration and control access permissions and privileges.
  • Implementation and Administration of Oracle Cluster Database Environment.
  • Monitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise to keep the databases up and running smoothly.
  • Assist in developing strategies and implementing solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication.
  • Identify the potential risk of database software and work towards minimizing those risks.
  • Coordinate and communicate efficiently with all stakeholders (clients and internal departments).
  • Create detailed documentation including diagrams of database infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of projects for its timely delivery including (but not limited to) planning, estimation, development approach, assignment, reporting etc.
