  • At least 8 years of progressively more responsible experience with at least 5 years' experience managing production staff.
  • Degree in Operations Management or Manufacturing preferred, but not required.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred, with the ability to effectively implement improvements within the packaging production area and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Significant experience in production planning and scheduling.
  • High level of initiative and energy to inspire initiative amongst staff in a rapidly changing and growing environment.
  • Experience with creating, maintaining and controlling expense and labor budgets.
  • Strong scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain due dates.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade with diplomacy and professionalism.

Job Description

The position is of a Factory Manager responsible to plan, supervise and co-ordinate overall operations of the Unit to meet qualitative & quantitative targets and ensure that production & dispatch activities are carried out as per companies business plan.
This is one state of art factories producing Packaging Materials. Most of the processes are automated.
Major processes Include:

  • Design and process of Cartoon Boxes
  • Design and Manufacturing of Containers, Jars & Bottles
  • Product manufactured-cartoon boxes, containers, inner boxes etc
  • Monitor paper quality, kraft paper, duplex paper printing etc

With a work force of 100+ in a single shift
Products Manufactured – Cartoon Boxes, Containers,
Other responsibilities include co-ordination with materials function for smooth supply of raw materials from approved sources & maintain inventory at minimum level.
Establish production planning process & norms through industrial engineering study & ensure implementation of the same. Oversee all other support functions to achieve targeted production & productivity level with consistent quality.
Guide concerned functions in review & disposition of non conforming materials & products which goes beyond repair.
Identify training & development needs for subordinates & employees in general.

  • Manage the production, Quality on shop floor
  • Production Planning
    • Interact with customers/franchise outlets, gather their requirements and schedule dispatches of chairs/spares in a timely manner.
    • Balance the load on the production lines according to the dispatch schedule
    • Ensure that production/sales targets are met/exceeded
  • Quality
  • Constantly monitor quality of incoming materials
  • Monitor/educate suppliers to ensure they deliver good quality
  • Analyse rejection reports and take appropriate action
  • Constantly monitor quality, cost and delivery
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly Production MIS reports
  • Vendor Development
  • Labour management. Must be able to handle labour effectively.
  • Product customization based on customer requirement
