Job Description

Taruka Technologies is an EV start-up building electric trucks. Taruka are researching and developing designs, parts and software in order to build electric trucks. 

We are looking for an addition to our small team. We are looking for a passionate and driven individual with a Mechanical or Automobile Engineering degree. We want someone who is dynamic and open to learning. A perfect candidate fits the requirements and has additional exceptional skills and/or abilities that will add value to the team and company. The IDEAL CANDIDATE is extroverted and open to talking and meeting people. 

The Fabrication Lead is someone who will connect paper to steel. The Fab Lead is responsible for turning designs on paper and software into reality. They will reach out to suppliers, engineering workshops, factories and other parties to ensure prototype fabrication. We have engineering designs that need to be turned into something tangible. The Fabrication Lead will visit various workshops around the valley and beyond, communicate our needs and negotiate deals to ensure prototype gets built. 

This position is HANDS ON. The Fabrication Lead must be engaged in the manufacturing process. They MUST BE open and willing to weld steel, lathe metals and more. This role requires the candidate to possess these skills. The Fab Lead will read designs made by the team and ideate on how to turn them into reality. This requires the candidate to have knowledge of various industries of Nepal.

Job Description: 

  • Aid in product development by conducting research, brainstorming and ideating 
  • Supervise the fabrication of product prototype by conducting meetings with partners and suppliers
  • Conduct research on fabricators, factories and workshops
  • Weld steel, operate lathes, assemble parts and chassis on prototype
  • Use CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS to design and edit engineering documents

Requirements:

  • Open minded, passionate, driven and diligent
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, (candidates with Electrical engineering degrees are encouraged to apply if they feel comfortable with hands on work)
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles
  • Welding skills, basic lathe skills, other skills and knowledge of fabrication methods
  • Programming skills are preferable but not necessary

Salary: 20k - 32k depending on experience, expertise and skills
