Roles and responsibilities of this job

Night Owls Private Limited is looking for a technically strong QA Engineer to test and improve Team Enoch’s software, internal tools, and websites. You will work closely with developers and business teams to identify issues, build reliable automated tests, and ensure our products are accurate, usable, and ready for release.

What you’ll do

Plan and execute testing across new features, existing applications, and website releases.
Perform manual, exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable tools.
Use AI tools for test creation, edge-case discovery, and debugging while independently verifying generated tests and results.
Test APIs, data accuracy, business rules, user permissions, and connections between systems.
Evaluate UI/UX across desktop and mobile browsers, including responsiveness, accessibility, visual consistency, navigation, and error messages.
Work with developers to write and improve unit and integration tests.
Document bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected results, screenshots or logs, and severity.
Verify fixes, maintain regression coverage, and communicate release readiness and unresolved risks.

Other Specification

At least 3 years of professional software QA experience, including practical automation experience.
Strong understanding of test design, acceptance criteria, defect management, and the software development lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework: Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
Ability to write, understand, and debug test code in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or a comparable language.
Practical experience using AI-assisted testing or coding tools, with the ability to review their output critically.
Experience testing APIs using Postman or similar tools, plus SQL or database validation skills.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, Git, and running automated tests through CI/CD pipelines.
Strong UI/UX testing judgment and attention to detail.
Clear written and spoken English, independent problem-solving skills, and availability for the stated overnight schedule.

Additional experience we value

Performance and load testing using k6, JMeter, or similar tools.
Security testing fundamentals, especially authentication, authorization, and sensitive-data handling.
Visual regression testing and accessibility testing.
Testing AI-powered features for accuracy, consistency, failure handling, and unexpected outputs.

Working hours: 7:00 PM–5:00 AM Nepal Time, Monday through Friday nights. Each shift ends the following morning; Friday’s shift ends Saturday at 5:00 AM.
