Saathi is a non-governmental organization established in 1992 to address the different forms of violence and discrimination faced by Nepali women and girls. It was the first organization that was instrumental in drawing significant national attention towards domestic violence in Nepal as an area requiring urgent attention and intervention to break the silence that impacts the lives of many marginalized women and girls. It has persistently continued its crusade for creating a safe and violence-free society where women and children can live with respect and dignity.

Job Description

Reports to: President, SAATHI 

Purpose of the Job: 

  • To manage all aspects of the work and responsibilities of Saathi, a leading  NGO working for Women and Child rights in Nepal particularly focusing on violence against women and girls since 1992.

Summary of  Key Job Functions:

  • Board Affairs Management/Governance 
  • Program Management 
  • Human Resource Management
  • Financial Management 
  • Reporting and liaison with donors/government  
  • Fundraising and networking 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Implement all policies approved by the Board of Directors 
  • Prepare the annual plan and budget for approval by Board of Directors 
  • Set operational targets and standards for SAATHI Programs and Administration including of the district offices and branch
  • Establish norms for all aspects of human resource management and development within SAATHI as well as performance appraisal
  • Represent SAATHI on appropriate national and international forums 
  • Supervise/Direct/Monitor actively the work of program officers/coordinators and administrative officers ensuring timely reporting and deliverables
  • Develop proposals and explore and raise funds  from domestic and international sources for the implementation of Saathi’s five year strategy plan
  • Set up standards and mechanisms for proper documentation and publication of IEC materials related to Saathi’s different programs as well as annual report
  • Develop and maintain appropriate linkages as well as liaise with government, development partners, INGOs , NGOs and network for the betterment of SAATHI

Key Competency Requirements: 

  • Strategic planning and management
  • Sound Knowledge on Women's rights and empowerment  as well as  Child Rights particularly on Violence Against Women and Girls
  • Analytical and negotiation skills
  • Financial management skills
  • Management skills (people skills, Leadership, Communication, Coordination, Planning, Programming, Organizing, Mentoring, Motivating, Staff Appraisal, Monitoring, etc.)
  • Fund raising skills including proposal writing and development
  • Advocacy skills
  • Computer literate

Minimum Requirements:

  • Academic qualifications: Masters in gender studies or sociology or management or related field, or Bachelors with minimum ten years of experience
  • Completed at least five years as Program Manager
  • Preferably equipped with strategic management experience and skills 
  • Excellent Command in written and spoken English and Nepali

Salary – negotiable based on experience
