Role Purpose
The Environmental Compliance Officer (ECO) ensures that the program is implemented in accordance with project requirements for environmental compliance. S/he will ensure that all necessary environmental safeguards & mitigation efforts are in place prior to the implementation of activities, monitor the application of these safeguards & mitigation efforts during implementation and prepare reports for the project & donor on the application. As part of the MEAL team, s/he will also support the team in other requirements and also coordinate with the Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation Senior Technical Manager on environmental safeguards & mitigation.
Term and Location: Fixed term position based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits
Required Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with minimum 3 years experience in environmental compliance monitoring & evaluation and/or research experience preferably with INGOs
