Stichting BRAC International’s (BI) journey started in 2002, when BRAC, a non-governmental organisation of Bangladeshi origin, started its global operation. With 40 years of experience in reaching out to 120 million Bangladeshis and proven solutions to effectively tackle poverty, BRAC realised that it could foster the same change for the poor in other countries. Currently BRAC is implementing programmes in 11 countries of Asia and Africa.
In Nepal, BRAC registered as an international non-governmental organisation with the Social Welfare Council in 2015. BRAC is working in Kavre and Kathmandu districts in WASH, strengthening the skills of female community health volunteers, adolescent girls, agriculture, livestock and skills development for urban poor youth.
