Emergency Response WASH Public Health Promotion Specialist – 1 position

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation ofhygiene promotion activities in all the emergency response WASH projects. S/he will ensure that interventions/activities implemented are at the best quality with the most competitive cost and they respond to nationally and globally recognized standards as well as to Plan’s own.

Terms and Location:  Six (6) months fixed term employment based in Plan Nepal Country Office, Lalitpur with frequent travel to the response areas.

Core Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health and/or in relevant field.
  • At least five (5) years’ of relevant work experiences in leading and implementing Hygiene promotion activities, Public Health & Environmental Health Promotion & Community development programmes/ projects. 
  • Proven experience of managing team, budgets and other management domains
  • Demonstrated ability to network and liaise with major donors and other health actors.
  • Excellent written and spoken English  
  • INGO work experience preferred. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate Hygiene Promotion activities to ensure timely planning, budgeting and implementation of the hygiene promotion activities in response areas in line with response plan.
  • Coordinate program monitor and evaluation to ensure ToR and tools are developed and method for data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in national and regional networks in related to public health matters with ministry of health, UN and NGOs.
  • Facilitate implementation and monitoring of sustainable hygiene promotion activities in line with Plan response plan.
  • Provide regular technical support for public health promotion programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to implementing agencies.
  • Coordination with Public Health Promotion Coordinators and ER WASH Coordinators to ensure effective communications & working relationship
