Emergency Response Deputy Area Manager- 2 positions

Purpose: The position holder will be the overall lead for managing and monitoring of all assigned Area Office projects and will provide leadership to the team ensuring timely delivery of the emergency response projects with high quality and as per the requirements of global standard. S/he will actively participate, coordinate/liaise with the government stake holders, partner organisations, communities and other Plan Nepal offices. S/he will be the main point of contact between the Area Office and the Sector Specialists based in the Country Office on programme related issues.

Terms and Location: Six (6) months fixed term employment based in Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk Area Office with frequent visits in the project area and to the Country Office.

Core Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science, Rural Development, and/or in relevant field.
  • At least five (5) years’ of work experiences in managing multi-disciplinary project teams and proven experience in working and managing partners both government and INGOs.
  • Demonstrated ability to network and liaise with major donors and other local actors.
  • Competencies both in English and Nepali languages.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Area Manager to effectively implement the Emergency Reponses Programme through partners programme and operational activities in the district.
  • Coordination closely with the Deputy ER Manager Filed Implementation to manage multiple grants across multiple sectors, ensuring that projects are delivered according to Plan and donor contractual requirements, within agreed timescale and budget.
  • Prepare and oversee programme implementation to ensure timely delivery of programme activities( for example, monitoring against log frames, individual performance management work plans)
  • Support Area Manager in ensuring sound financial management of the programme including regular and timely narrative financial reporting against planned activities and budget.
  • Manage and motivate team to perform highly in their respective roles and responsibilities
