- Counsel students regarding educational issues such as course programs selection and career planning
- Counsel individuals to with proper information and help them understand
- Confer with parents to resolve students academic problems and issues
- Be responsible for providing educational guidance to students
- Support and encourage confidence in academic decision making by promoting student independence in academic processes and regulations
- Maintain the web-based information associated with study abroad
- Support and communicate with students currently studying abroad and their parents as appropriate
- Guide students through (online) application, acceptance, registration, orientation and evaluation process
- Serve as the primary campus advisor for educational opportunities abroad
- Maintain the recruitment, selection, orientation and re- entry of study abroad students
- Counselor must oversee all aspects of the visa and immigration service
- He or she must ensure that all of the information provided by the student is accurate and correct, preparing and checking all legal documents
- You must oversee the completion of all relevant visa and immigration documents and ensure that they are received within the time limits
- Counselor must be able to help the student obtain visas, green cards and other documentation required
