Organization Description
The Oda Foundation, in tandem with local leaders, private partners and government support, develops integrative community development solutions for some of Nepal's most geographically isolated communities. Headquartered in the district of Kalikot, the foundation has worked on healthcare, education and women empowerment initiatives in Mahabai Rural Municipality and more recently expanded to agriculture and livelihood initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities of the employee
Key responsibilities include:
Working alongside our Directors, Education Program Manager, local staff and public system officers to execute Education department plans and programs
Working closely at a regular basis in the co-management of the Oda Foundation’s partnering public school
Working with the school staff to support daily plans, teaching, lesson plans and trainings
Rigorous data collection and regular reporting
Supervising education staff, department Fellows and volunteers at a daily basis
Navigating key stakeholder relationships including: local community members, local leaders, Rural Municipality representatives, district-level officers as well as possible non-government partners and supporters
Communicating effectively in English and Nepali with our foreign and local team
Bringing enthusiasm to the predominantly local team of Oda Foundation
Competence to demonstrate:
Keen interest in public education system improvement
Minimum Bachelor's Degree
Experience in data collection and analysis
Competent in use of Microsoft Office and Internet
A desire to work in a rural and limited resource setting
Strong communication and good time management skills
A positive attitude with a proven track record for being a team player
A strong work ethic and a desire to engage in rural community development
Respectful mindset towards living and working conditions in Kalikot
A strong understanding of the importance in building local talent and local capacity
The ability to abide by Oda Foundation Values
A year of experience preferred
Working Arrangement
Workstation is Mahabai Rural Municipality, Kalikot
Daily meal on campus and housing - in case of non-local staff - provided by the office
Reporting Line
The Assistant Program Manager will directly report to the Education Program Manager
