Emigrate Consultants is the Nepal-based offshore support office of Kharel Law Group, an Australian legal practice operating under the brand Emigrate Lawyers. The firm specialises in Australian migration law, family law, and related legal services. The Lazimpat office supports Australian legal operations through education counselling, visa processing, document preparation, and client support. Emigrate Lawyers is led by award-winning Nepali & Australian lawyer Mr Madhab Kharel.

Role Overview

We are seeking a competent, client-focused, and detail-oriented Education and Visa Counsellor to join our Lazimpat, Kathmandu office. This role strictly requires prior hands-on experience working in an education or visa consultancy handling Australian cases.

Key Responsibilities

Counsel students on Australian education pathways, institutions, and course progression options.
Assess student eligibility for Australian study in line with visa and compliance requirements.
Provide accurate guidance on Genuine Student (GS) requirements.
Prepare and assist with Australian visa applications including student, visitor, graduate, and dependent visas.
Compile, review, and organise visa documentation and supporting evidence.
Assist with responses to Department of Home Affairs correspondence, including s56 requests.
Maintain accurate client records in CRM and document management systems.
Ensure all files comply with Department of Home Affairs, legal, and internal standards.
Liaise with Australian lawyers, paralegals, and internal operational teams.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Law, Education, Business, Management, or related field preferred)
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in Australian education or visa consultancy (mandatory)
English: Strong written and spoken English; IELTS 6.0 or above (or equivalent)

This is a fully office-based role at Emigrate Consultants, Lazimpat, Kathmandu.
Applicants without Australian consultancy experience will not be considered.
