Job Description

The Driver will be responsible for maintaining and safe driving of office vehicles and will support the HR and Administration Assistant. The driver will report to the Senior Finance and Compliance Manager. The major duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Vehicle Management

  • Safe driving of vehicles at all times, taking precautions as required
  • Ensure that his /her driving licence is renewed time
  • Update regularly on security procedures in emergency and conflict situations
  • Plan for direct routes for meetings and ensure alternative routes for destinations by keeping informed of traffic conditions
  • Timely maintenance of vehicles, make inspection of assigned vehicle every day to ensure that the radiator, engine oil, brake oils, battery water levels etc., are within the recommended levels 
  • Recommend any maintenance required to keep the vehicle in good running condition
  • Keep vehicles are in a ‘field ready’ state any day
  • Renew blue books and emission sticker annually, before the expiry date
  • Update log books including fuel consumption record

Office Administration

  • Ensure photocopying of reports and document binding
  • Deliver official mail and manage banking needs of the office
  • Pick-up and drop of staff’s /visitors/consultants from the airport/hotel/office
  • Collect air-tickets and documents as advised by HR and Administration Assistant /Senior Finance and Compliance Manager

Other Duties

  • Undertake periodic field visits
  • Perform any other duties as directed by COP, DCOP and supervisors, as and when required

Selection requirements

  • Hold a valid driving license to drive in Nepal
  • Have good command in spoken English and Nepali
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to use photocopy machine, binding, take phone calls and messages
  • Have at least five years of driving experience with international projects 
  • Have experience of driving in Mid and Far Western Nepal and have knowledge of roads of 14 Earthquake districts
  • Have good communication skills
  • Demonstrate that you work in teams
  • Ability to manage change
