  • Minimum qualification of class 10 (SLC/SEE) passed.
  • Must have at least 5 years of driving experience in various passenger vehicles. Experience on driving off-road, difficult terrain and adverse conditions is desired.
  • Must be in possession of the following and current Nepali driving licenses:
            Cat A: Motorcycle
            Cat B: Car, Jeep (maximum 8 passenger seats)
            Cat F: Minibus, Minitruck (desirable not mandatory)
          • Must be mentally and physically fit with particularly good eyesight and hearing.
          • Must have exceptionally good knowledge and experience of traffic rules/regulation.
          • Must have the ability to deal with unforeseen situations whilst driving including roadblocks and strikes.
          • Must have a very good understanding of Road Traffic Accident (RTA), vehicle breakdown and recovery procedure.
          • Must have good understanding of how vehicle engine works and be able to fix minor problems.
          • Must be able to read, write and communicate in simple English.
          • Flexible to be cross posted within the GWT(N) locations.

          Location: Any Area Welfare Centre across Nepal (future postings based on need/requirement of organisation).


          Job Description

          A GWT(N) Driver is primarily responsible to Senior Area Welfare Officer (SAWO)/Area Welfare Officer (AWO) to carry out all driver duties. He is responsible for maintenance, documentation and inspections of all vehicles and motorbikes in AWC in liaison with Senior Mechanical Transport Assistant/ Logistic Manager at the Trust’s Headquarters. He has to carry out daily vehicle/bikes’ checks including first/last parade and driver’s details/tasks and action as necessary. He also has to perform proper and careful operation of vehicle and safe custody of all tools and spare parts associated with it. Further, he has to maintain and be efficient in the use of the firefighting appliances and toolkits held on the vehicle.
