It is a charitable institution, established and registered in the UK in 1969. The GWT(N) ensures that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live their lives with dignity. We achieve this primarily through the provision of financial, medical and community aid.

A GWT(N) Driver is primarily responsible to Senior Area Welfare Officer (SAWO)/Area Welfare Officer (AWO) to carry out all driver duties. He is responsible for maintenance, documentation and inspections of all vehicles and motorbikes in AWC in liaison with Senior Mechanical Transport Assistant/ Logistic Manager at the Trust’s Headquarters. He has to carry out daily vehicle/bikes’ checks including first/last parade and driver’s details/tasks and action as necessary. He also has to perform proper and careful operation of vehicle and safe custody of all tools and spare parts associated with it. Further, he has to maintain and be efficient in the use of the firefighting appliances and toolkits held on the vehicle.
