Job Description

Job Title: Documentation coordinator
Duration: Fixed Term Contract from April 2017 - March 2018. Renewable based on performance.
Reports to: Communications Manager
Location: ​The position is based in Kathmandu valley but requires frequent travel to different districts.
Salary:​ Based on ​Teach for Nepal’​s policies
Date: 2017 April

Job Purpose:

To lead the documentation of Teach For Nepal Fellows’ outstanding work in different public schools of Nepal.

Key Responsibilities​:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, analyze and build a strategy to document the work of Teach For Nepal Fellow’s which have been done or going to happen.
  • Identify the needs of different Teach For Nepal staff team and able to generate the resources from written to video form.
  • Communicate effectively with Teach For Nepal’s Fellow as well as different stakeholders at placement schools, with a knowledge of process oriented work.
  • Archive digital collaterals and resources that are produced during Fellowship journey.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Leadership Development Manager of Teach For Nepal and get updates about Fellow’s progress.
  • Archive different social media posts of Teach For Nepal’s Fellow and able to generate more information by regularly communicating with Fellows.
  • Develop a script of an impactful activity done by Fellow’s, prepare questions for interview, travel to the placement school to shoot, and also edit the videos.

Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving- ​Able to identify, prioritize and proactively anticipate opportunities and problems. Capable to use logic and data to analyse situation, and development high quality, actionable strategies & solutions.

Learning- ​Ability and willingness to learn continuously to improve self as well as documentation process, and the team.

Adaptability- ​Can cope effectively with changing circumstances and priorities; is not fazed by last minute changes: takes differences and changes in their stride: responds positively to the need to adapt to changes.

Decision Making- ​Able to use appropriate context, data and information to make sensible and timely decision and displays sound judgement when faced with tough situation.

Passion- ​Feels passionate for the mission and vision of Teach for Nepal and is able to communicate that passion and enthusiasm with others. Believes in the Core Values of Teach For Nepal.

Patience- ​Able to listen others, work patiently in remote areas for long periods , and able to adjust in remote settings accomodation.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Master's degree in any discipline (Communications, Marketing, Research are preferable)​. (Bachelor degree for Teach For Nepal Alumni)
  • Two years of full-time experience in communication role or research oriented role, preferably in non-profit sector.
  • Experience with young people desirable.
  • Strong written communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Willing to travel within Nepal. This position requires frequent visit to Teach For Nepal Fellows’ schools in rural Nepal.
  • Detail oriented with excellent editing/proofreading skills and ability to produce error-free work.
  • Strong computer competency required. Skills in video editing, graphic design software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to take photograph and videos, including excellent editing skill. Have proficiency in softwares like Adobe Suite and audio editing software.
  • Proficiency in handling DSLR camera, and sound equipments.
  • Pragmatic, sociable, reflective, and highly energetic.
