This is not a desk job.
This is not a project officer position. This is not for everyone. We are looking for a grounded, courageous and people-centred leader who wants to live in rural Okhaldhunga, work directly with communities and help build one of Nepal's most practical rural development models.
About the Role
Volunteers Initiative Nepal (ViN) is seeking a District Programme Lead to manage and strengthen our integrated community empowerment programmes in Okhaldhunga. This role is for someone who enjoys working with children, women, youth, teachers, farmers, volunteers, local institutions and local governments more than sitting behind a computer.
The position will lead ViN's work across four development pillars - Education, Health & Environment, Economy and Basic Infrastructure - and six core programmes: Children's Development, Women's Empowerment, Youth Empowerment, PublicHealth & Medical Care, Environmental Conservation and Disaster Risk Reduction.
The Scale of Responsibility
You will live and work from the NaraTika Community Learning Centre {Link www.ntclc.org} and coordinate ViN's community programmes involving 22 partner schools, 22 ECD centres, 3 women's cooperatives, 2 youth clubs, 3 DRM task forces, WASH initiatives, sustainable food production, libraries, computer learning, staff, interns and local/international volunteers.
